Soji Fanoiki, managing partner
Soji founded Boinu Capital Partners in 2016 and is responsible for fund sourcing, diligence, monitoring fund holdings, and investor relations. Through his unique experience and diverse network, Soji has gained access to the highest quality private equity firms in Africa. Soji has been investing in the African private markets since 2016, initially committing capital to Verdant Frontiers — a U.S.-managed Fund operating in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Soji has gained valuable insight along the way, developing relationships with other key general partners across the continent.
Soji has over 23 years of experience in the Asset Management business, with investment counseling, business development, and marketing and sales roles all honed at Fisher Investments. Soji is a liason between U.S.-based institutional and high net worth investors and the investment opportunities found in emerging markets.
Soji received his B.A. in Economics and Business from the University of San Francisco; Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 (inactive). He is an avid traveler, enjoys time with his family, soccer, basketball and cooking.
Eric Hassman, cfo
Eric has 25 years of corporate operating and investment experience in early and mid-stage companies. He has held the CFO position in several successful Silicon Valley companies in the e-commerce, data, and social media industries.
Eric is currently CFO at Early Growth Financial Services, and has joined Boinu Capital as a consulting CFO. He was previously a partner in Carbyne Capital Partners, investing in and operating early stage technology companies. Eric was also COO/CFO of mFirst Security Ltd., a mobile application security firm, and CEO of Forgge, an Uber-style 3D printing company. Eric also served as the CFO of Buildfax, the world leader in property history data, COO/CFO of Reframe It, a social network technology company, as well as CFO of Sitoa Corporation, an e-commerce company in the Bay area. He also restructured and ran the operations of one of the largest Habitat for Humanity affiliates.
Eric began his career in PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s financial advisory group and the International Trade Administration at the U.S. Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
Eric received his M.B.A. in finance and strategy from Yale University and his B.A. in Economics and International Studies from American University. He is an avid traveler and enjoys his family, tennis, squash, soccer, and skiing.
